Has it been hot or what? To stay cool we bought a pool! We thought it would be fun to have a beach/pool party. We already had sand (from our sandbox), so all we needed was a pool, music, and our Jeep. Let the party begin!

Brock & Brody

Summer so far has been fun but crazy-busy! We finally had a weekend to ourselves and it felt great! Not that we don't love our family and friends:)
Four years ago (before Brock) we got this bike at a ward auction for $25.00. Knowing we would have children one day we held on to it. Brock is a real pro on his tricycle. He pedals so fast we can't even see his legs. We thought it was time to move him up in the world and get the "BIG BOY" bike down. We went to Walmart and got him a helmet, training wheels, and a horn.

At first there were more than a few accidents. He couldn't figure out how to keep the pedals moving. Which we were confused at because he conquered the tricycle. He gave up and didn't want to ride any more. We told him we know you can do it, if you keep trying. He had no interest to do so. A few hours later we went out side again and I asked him if he wanted to ride his "BIG BOY" bike. He said no. We said ok, you don't have to do it until you are ready. I took it down to the sidewalk and left it there. A few moments later we could see him touching and playing with his bike, then he looked up at us and said, I need my helmet! I said are you ready to try again? Yes mom....

With determination in his eyes he tried again. He took off and never stopped pedaling. Randy and I cheered for him, even as he turned the bike around and came back all by him self.

He road his bike for hours that day, back and forth, from one drive-way to another. Everyday he gets better. We are so proud of Brock for getting enough courage to try again. He did it all by himself and we knew he could do it. Good Job buddy! We love you!

I just barely started feeding Brody baby food and snack puffs. He absolutely loves them! With Brock I could not wait to start baby food. With Brody I have held back a little. It just means he is growing up. Brody is in 9-12 month clothing. The other day I was putting away all the clothes that are to small. It makes me sad to think that he just might be our last baby. I wish he could stay a baby forever.

We like to check our boys when they are sleeping. Look how peaceful and sweet.

Brody is 7 Months

Brody turned 7 months last Friday. He is almost crawling! He gets up on his knees and rocks back and forth. He also does this army crawl thing to get where he is going. He is growing up way to fast. He has started to pout and boy he loves to eat. Check out his 6 month stats:

We had the amazing opportunity to take Brody to the Temple to be Sealed to us, for Time and all Eternity. We will never forget that day when we saw our 2 boys dressed all in white, entering the sealing room. The spirit was so strong and the veil was so thin. We were surrounded by Angels and our Family and Friends. We could feel their love and Heavenly Father's love for this sweet and special boy. Heavenly Father has a plan for each one of us. Brody's plan is to be apart of our family. He just had to come to us a very special way. We are very grateful for Brody's birth parents and families. We love you so much, and consider all of you apart of our family. Thank you to everyone who came to be apart of our special day. We love you all. Families are Forever.

It's final. Brody is officially ours! :) Being in the court room (that Randy re-modeled) made everything so real. It was a neat, but also a hard experience to hear all the legal documents read out loud. Our hearts are full of LOVE and GRATITUDE for Brody's amazing birth parents. We couldn't help, but to think of them as the Judge read their names out loud. Tears filled our eyes. We Love and THANK YOU both for this handsome little guy that makes us so happy. Brody brings such a sweet peace into our home. We would also like to THANK our family and friends who have supported us during this adoption process. We are very blessed to have all of you apart of our lives. We are one HAPPY family:) We love you all!

Brody Turned 6 Months

Wow! Brody is 6 months. He just gets cuter by the day. He knows that when he cries someone will tend to him, so he has come up with a fake cry to get our attention. It's the cutest thing and makes us laugh. He is all over the place rolling around. He sits up really good. He loves to play with his toys, watch Baby Einstein, and watch his big brother. When Brody sees Brock he starts giggling, his hands and body go wild, and his smile is huge. He loves him you can tell. It is so fun to watch them together. They are going to be the best of buddies. Brody is the happiest baby ever. We love you Brody!

A Little R & R in Moab

While most of you were in the rain and snow, we were in 80 degree weather! For Memorial Day weekend, we headed to Moab Utah with the Hinckley side of the family. It's the most beautiful and funnest place on earth. Here we are at a beautiful water hole. It is about a 1 mile hike in the hot 80 degree weather, but way worth it in the end:) While we were hiking to the water hole life-flight came and took a girl away who broke both of her ankles jumping into the water. Ouch! Her friend pushed her and she landed in shallow water. I was nervous because Randy jumped....he is ok. If you ever come here....NO PUSHING!

We went JEEPING! This is why we love Moab so much. It is very relaxing until you come to an obstacle then your nerves start to kick in. The thrill you get when you make it to the top is incredible! It is amazing to be out in the open red rock and see just how beautiful this world is. Amazing!

Cute thing: While jeeping we stopped for lunch in this red rock cave and while we were eating Brock starts crying. He looked up at everyone and said "I had a accident, I pooped my pants." It was the cutest thing. I guess for a 3 year old when you know there is no bathroom, you just go:) Good thing I brought an extra pair of undies.

We went to a park and had a little to much fun:) Can't you just eat little Brody up? Brock is a curious and hungry little boy. He decided to eat mulberries from a tree. It stained his cloths and body. A few minutes later he was playing catch with aunt Heather when he turned his head and the ball smacked him right on the nose. Poor thing. Needless to say, Brock came home looking great:)

We went swimming. Brock loved it. He just stands in one spot and jumps up and down giggling, too cute. This was Brody's first time swimming, and guess what? He LOVED it. He was cooing up a storm and splashing his hands in the water smiling:) Way too cute! We love our boys!

We hiked up the red rock to see some dinosaur tracks. Way cool.

Growing Old

A week ago Randy, the boys and I were driving in the truck. We were stopped at a red light, when I saw this cute old couple crossing the street hand in hand. The husband looked quite healthy while the wife looked a little frail and fragile. As I watched them slowly cross the street tears filled my eyes and then I was bawling hysterically. Randy looked at me with big eyes and asked "ahhh...why are you crying?" I told him I was excited to grow old with him and hopefully be as cute as that old couple. We are coming up on our 11 year anniversary. The time as flown, but I look forward to many years to come with him and our boys. I can't believe I am saying this, but I look forward in getting old and walking hand in hand with my Rand:)

The weather here in Utah has been crazy! Not a lot of sunshine, mostly rain. So when the weather is good we are definitely out in the sun. One afternoon we decided to go and have a picnic at Liberty Park. It was a blast!

Brock could hardly wait to get his feet/body wet. When he was playing he said "mom, this is so much fun, I can't believe it!" That made me remember what it was like at his age. I just loved it. It's rewarding to know that we are creating some fun memories for him and Brody.

Itty Bitty Baseball

Brock started T-ball. We are so excited for him to learn and develop his talents. It is so fun to watch him run the bases, hit the ball, throw and catch. He is a lefty when it comes to catching/throwing and a righty when he bats. He is very good at everything he has done so far. When we practice at home he always reminds us what the coach has taught him. We are excited for the next 15 years with him and what he chooses to be apart of. Way to go Brock! Go Dodgers!

Time for a Buzz

For the past week Brody had this comb-over thing going on. A strand here and a strand there, with fuzz underneath. I couldn't stand it any more, so I decided to buzz it all one length. It looks so much better! :) I loved his hair when he was born. Chanel's hair fell out when she was a baby so I knew his would too (hoping it would stay). The goal for him is to have Daddy Devin's hair. Skater shag style. (I think that is what it's called?) We will see how it all comes in. It's a mystery for now:) What a good lookin' Baby Buzz (I kept the mullet in the back;) haha)

Brody's 4 Month Check-up

We have a 17 lb 4 month old! Brody is the cutest thing. He is really curious and getting a feel for everything around him. He makes the cutest little noises. I took him to his 4 month check-up yesterday and Dr. Mumford was enjoying him as much as we do. Brody is already flirting with all the ladies. Smiling and cooing at them. They all better watch out, he is going to be a little heart-breaker. We are really enjoying this stage in Brody's life. 4 months is one of my favorites. Here are his stats from his appointment:

He is growing beautifully.

Easter Egg Hunt #1

This is one of the things I love about being a mother. Taking the boys to fun events and watching their excitement. On Saturday we headed over to the Legacy Center in Lehi for a Easter Egg hunt. It wasn't really a hunt:( haha You had to EARN your eggs by doing certain games. It was Brody's nap time so he didn't stay awake for all the excitement.

You earned eggs by doing certain games. Brock and I were doing head, shoulders, knees and toes for this game.

After each game you got to pick ONE egg. Brock didn't hear or he "chose" not to listen to the ONE egg instruction and shoved egg after egg in his bag. That is so Brock. We love him for that.

In the mornings when I get ready for the day, the boys hang out in the living room. I put Brody in his jumper and I put Brock on the couch (with a snack) to watch Baby Einstein. The other day I came out of my room and saw this, Zzzz...It's gotta be the cutest thing in the world! :) I remember when Brock was a baby I was waiting for the day for him to fall asleep in a odd place. Yeah, that never happened. Brock liked his bed too much. So, when I saw this...I was so excited and I sat in front of Brody and just watched him for a good 5-10 min. It made my day:)

It's Great to be Eight!

On Saturday we had the pleasure to witness our niece Zyan be Baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We are so proud of her for the choice she made. It was a tear jerker to see Zyan's father take her by the hand and enter the water of Baptism, while all her siblings and cousin's knelt in front to watch. What a great example she has set for all of them. After we went back to Zyans house for the most delicious lunch. Soft shell tacos, nachos, brownies and cookies. I love being with family! It was an amazing day. We love you Zyan!

Another Great Weekend

Brock's birth family came to visit Brock over the weekend. Grandma Gossett and his two aunts, Jessica and Kaylee came too. Mommy Heather was not able to come because of school. We missed her very much.

We thought it would be fun to hang out down town and show them the city. We walked around Temple Square, made our way to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building up to the observation deck. Brock loved it when Grandma Gossett starting tickling him.

Later that evening we invited Mommy Channel over to meet the Gossetts. We took them all to a place called Jump On It. It was a blast!

Every time I tried to find Brock he was on this video game. This kid loves guns! I couldn't keep him off of it.

Our Crazy Weekend

Last weekend the boys and I headed down to Cedar City to visit my sister Taylor and her husband Abbel. Randy had to work so it was just me and the boys. It was Taylor and Abbel's spring break, so it was perfect I went down. They are both attending SUU and have lived down there for the past 3 years. Abbel had to work most of the time so Taylor, the boys and I hung out. We went to this awesome park called Park Discovery. Brock loved it! We went to the SUU campus where Taylor is studying broadcast journalism. She showed us the set where she anchors, and all the "behind the scenes" technical stuff. She also is a host on a radio station down there, we saw where she does her magic there as well. It was a lot of fun to see what she is doing. One of the nights Abbel watched both the boys so Taylor and I could go shopping. It was awesome. Thanks Abbel. Taylor is a pretty good cook. She kept us well fed. We attempted to make homemade donuts. They tasted better than they looked. haha. It was a great get-a-way! Much needed. Thanks Taybel! When we returned from Cedar 3 hours later we got back in the car and headed up to Burley, Idaho to visit Randy's dad and step mom. I forgot the camera, so I have no pictures. It was a crazy weekend, but a lot of fun. Now we are Home Sweet Home:)

Date Night with Brock

Brock and I went on a date night with his cousin Kailee and his aunt Angie to see Disney on Ice. Randy and Brody stayed back at home to have a little male bounding time. Brock and Kailee were excited to ride on the train (Trax).

Aunt Angie bought Brock and Kailee cotton n' candy. The candy came with these Mickey Mouse hats. They loved looking like Mickey Mouse.

Finally the show started. It was spectacular! Brock was glued the whole time. We saw Mickey Mouse and his friends, all the princesses, all the villians and then he saw......

...Jesse and Woody! He was so excited. I have never seen him smile that big before. When the night was over I asked him what his favorite part was? He said "seeing Jesse". I loved re-living my childhood through his eyes.

Thanks for the great date Brock! I loved spending time with you. Great memories with great people. Hopefully it can be a yearly tradition:)

So Stinkin' Cute

This little boy is awesome! Today marks 3 months and also when he slept 11 hours straight. That's no joke. For the past month he would usually wake up around 4:30-5:00 am. for a bottle. Well...not last night, 11 hours, can you believe that? My first nights rests with no interruptions in 3 months. My body was in heaven. We are very lucky he is a good sleeper, so I've heard. Brody is going to have a great personality. He is already making us laugh. His smile is to die for and those dimples....Oohh, those dimples. We could just eat him up:) Have I told you he is a great baby? We are so blessed to have him. We love you Brody!

Last night I gave Brody a raspberry blow on his stomach and this is what happened. It was the cutest thing ever! I was smiling all night.

Welcome Home Randy!

Gosh...it's good to have Randy home! Some of you are probably wondering, where did he go?. Well, Randy has been working out of town for the past 8 months. Randy has been working in the construction industry for a while now and these last couple of years have been really scary, due to the economy. We are so GRATEFUL for the wonderful company he works for to keep him busy, even though it was out of town. We count our blessings every day for the work in Castledale. Randy started working out of town last June until now. He would wake up Monday morning at 5:00 am, load up his truck and drive 2 1/2 hours to Castledale, Utah. He would return home on Thursday night, late. I was OK with it at first, because it was just me and Brock. Then another miracle came into our lives, Brody:) That's when it got hard. K, that came out wrong. Brody didn't make it hard, I was out numbered. I felt like a single woman, doing it all by myself. It wasn't easy. I give a standing applaud to all the single women out there doing it alone. It was only 4 days out of the week he was gone, but it seemed like forever. In a nut shell....We are so happy to have him home every night. Our home is back to the way I remember. The boys love it, and I love it. Welcome Home Daddy!

Brock's 3 Year Check-up

I took the boys (I love saying "the boys") in today for their check-ups with Dr. Mumford. Brock had his 3 year check-up. He is doing awesome. Dr. Mumford was so impressed with him. He passed the eye exam and pointed to the right shapes when he was asked what they were. Brock had to get one shot today. We let Brody go first so Brock could watch. Then the nurse asked Brock if he wanted a turn. To her surprise he said "yes". As soon as his pants were down the nurse gave him the shot. With tears in his eyes and a surprised look on his face he said "did she just give me a shot?" I said "yes". When he knew it was true that's when the crying began. Luckily it didn't last long at all. He did awesome. Brock is a growing boy! Check out his stats:

Brody's 2 Month Check-up

Brody is made of steel! He did awesome at his check-up today as well. Dr. Mumford was impressed with his growth. They were surprised when they measured his height, they said "that can't be right?", so they measured again and it was the same outcome. He did have to get 3 shots today. He is a tough little boy, only cried a few seconds. Check out his unbelievable stats:

Brody grew 3 in. and gained 5 lbs in 2 months. Wow! What can I say our boys are good eaters.

We are so grateful to have healthy boys. We are very proud of them and their development.

Today while I was listening and relaxing in Church, I couldn't help but think about how blessed we are to have these 2 beautiful and perfect little boys. I used to think of our infertility as a negative thing, but lately I have been THANKING our Heavenly Father for our infertility. It truly is a blessing to us. Because of IT, we have been blessed with these 2 amazing boys through the miracle of Adoption. We are proud to be apart of it, and we wouldn't trade it for anything. Just look how Good-lookin' they both are! :)

Brody is 2 Months Today

Brody is the cutest baby! Wait, so was Brock, but today it's all about Brody. Brody has changed a lot over the last few weeks. He is getting a little chub to his bones, which I like. He is cooing and smiling a ton. He is kicking his legs 100 miles per hour. I have noticed that when he sleeps he loves to have his head turned on his left side. He is most comfortable that way. I know when he's hungry and when he wants time to him self. He is sleeping all the way through the night! :) :) There is not one thing I can complain about. He is perfect in every way. We are so lucky Chanel chose us to be his parents. We thank her and Devin everyday for placing the cutest little baby to be apart of our family. We love you.

Fun with Kailee

I have the privilege to watch Kailee (Brock's cousin) twice a week. It is so much fun to see them together. I have fun creating fun things for them to do. I am teaching them the letters in the alphabet one by one. So far they can recognize and say the sound of A, B, C, and D. Once they know all the letters I will teach them how to write them. It is really rewarding to me to see them learn and memorize the letters. I love it!

Faith & Love

This is one of my favorite pictures of sweet Chanel and Brody. I think of Chanel and thank her everyday for the choice she made for little Brody. This picture speaks volumes to me, of the FAITH and LOVE Chanel has in our Heavenly Father. She never questioned our Heavenly Father once in what he wanted for her and Brody. She is a great example in my life and has a special place in my heart.

Our Little Tonka Boy

Just over the last week Brody has grown so much. He can now put weight on his legs and he is just to the point of smiling. Maybe it's the gassy smiles, but I swear there not. I think he is going to be very ticklish. Sometimes I just touch him and he smiles. It is so stinkin' cute. We love him more every day:)

Bathroom Talk

I need to share some of the funny things Brock is saying. I don't know why, but he loves to talk about poop. It must be a boy thing.?

-The other day Brock was in the bathroom going potty #2. When he started calling my name. "Mommy...Mommy...Mommy, come and look!" I always get so nervous when I here that. So, I go in and he says to me..."Look mommy I have poop juice."
FYI: Poop juice = diarrhea. I was laughing so hard that he associated diarrhea with juice. Smart little boy.

-Over Christmas break Granny Goose was over and asked him...."what his little brother's name was?" With his tongue sticking out and in a low scratchy voice he said "Phillip". So, me being weird and goofy asks him "fill up with what?" He looked at me and laughed. A couple of days go by, when aunt Taylor and Bryson came to stay. We were putting Brock and Bryson to bed and decided to sing them a song. It went like this:

Fill up,... fill up,.... fill up with what?

Fill up with Bryson,

Fill up with Brock,

Fill up with Brody,

Fill up with______?

We then asked Brock and Bryson to fill in the blank and Brock said...

"Fill up with poop"?.

We all were laughing so hard. We had to sing the song a couple of times. The boys laughed every time. To this day Brock will randomly ask me to sing the "Phillip" song. He ask me in the grocery store once. ha ha

Brock Turned 3 Big Ones!

Three years ago Brock was born. We can not believe it. It seems like yesterday we got the "call" in the middle of the night from Mommy Heather saying she was in labor. We will never forget the first time we met Brock. He is truly a heavenly gift and is a great blessing in our lives. We could not imagine life without him. With his silly personality he makes us laugh everyday. He had a great Birthday, got lots of awesome presents and ate a lot of cake and ice cream. If you ever want to play with any Toy Story toy....we have it, so come on over. There are so many things we love about Brock, but sense he is 3 here are 3 things we love about him:
1. We love that every morning he comes into our bed and tells us with a big smile on his face that "he woked up".
2. We love that he loves to give and receive hugs and kisses. We are eating them all up because we know it won't last forever:(
3. We love his silly personality. You know when Brock is in the room, because his voice is way above anyone else's and he can go from a sweet and sharing little boy to a grumpy selfish little boy in seconds. He cracks us up.

Cute little Brody is 1 month old today. He has grown so much already. He is up to drinking 3-4oz. and is sleeping really good at night. The other night he slept for 8 hours:) I woke up in a panic and went to his room finding him still swaddled and fast asleep. What a good little boy. He is so sweet. Brody came just in time for the Holiday's to make this one of the best Christmases we have ever had. Our two boys are both great gifts, but to have one so close to Christmas was amazing. We couldn't help but think of our Savior's love and what he has done for us. He truly has blessed us this Holiday Season.

Brock loves Randy's tools. We are glad Santa knew that and brought him this awesome tool bench of his very own. It even has a cordless drill that Brock loves:)

Brock was in heaven from the loot in his stocking. Santa made a mistake and brought him to much candy. He had a really bad tummy ache by the end of the day.

Brody scored on Christmas! He is only 18 days old and look what he got. He is one loved little boy. Mommy Chanel gave him some toys, and he even got some money from grandpa and grandma Mellor...Lucky boy.

Randy's family was in town for the Holiday's and it's a tradition for them to go skiing/snowboarding. The nice wife I am decided he could go, after all he is a hard worker:) When Randy got out his snowboarding equipment Brock was very interested in trying on his boots. I am sure glad kids are flexible....OUCH!

Brody is 2 weeks!

Brody is 2 weeks old. We can not believe it. We know it's only been 2 weeks, but it feels like we have had him forever:) Chanel and I took him to his 2 week check-up. He is one healthy boy....Yeah! His weight was- 8 lbs 12 0z-49%, height-20.5 in-43%. He is doing great said Dr. Mumford. He is eating 2-3 oz. And just look at his head strength! We are so proud of him. Thank you Chanel for delivering a healthy baby boy. We are so grateful to our birth mothers who have brought us 2 healthy boys.

Mommy Chanel & Daddy Devin's visit

Saturday night we had the pleasure to have Chanel and Devin over. We know Chanel pretty well, but we loved getting to know Devin. We found out he is a huge Jazz fan! Yeah. He also help build the Riverton Hospital where Brody was born...way cool. It was fun watching them both study Brody and see what traits they passed along to him. At one point Brody needed a diaper change, so Chanel took it into her hands to do it:) While she was changing him, his umbilical cord fell off. I thought it was awesome she was there to witness it. We are so Thankful to Chanel and Devin for wanting to be a part of Brody's life. We know it will help them both and help Brody. As he grows and learns to understand where he comes from and why he likes the Jazz so much:) ha ha And why he has those green eyes? (we hope, sorry Devin) ha ha... Maybe he'll play in the NBA? :)

Brody's Over Protective Big Brother

Bringing Brody home we were a little worried how Brock was going to adapt to him. We were worried for nothing. He has been so great. He always wants to know where he is. He will search around the house, in his crib, in my arms and if I don't have him he will say "where's Brody?". He loves to hold and give him hugs and kisses. It's like they knew each other in heaven and he knew he was coming. (Which I believe to be true) Brock is very protective over Brody. When people come to visit him, Brock will tell them "you can't hold her!". (Brock's pronouns are still mixed up:) ) The other day I had grandma watch Brody for an hour so I could do my calling for activity days. Brock was a sleep. I was right in the middle of teaching these girls about developing talents when Brock wakes up from his nap. I sent him down to grandma (FYI-Randy's mom/grandma lives in our basement) so I could finish with the lesson without any interruptions. All of a sudden I heard Brock kicking and screaming. I found out later that when he saw grandma holding Brody he thought she took him for good. He told her to take "her" back up-stairs and that it's his Brody. He came crying to me and said "grandma has Brody? Will she give "her" back?" I just smiled and giggled and reassured Brock that Brody will come back. How sweet Brock has been to Brody. He is taking on the big brother role very well.

Look how stinkin' cute he is! I just can't get enough of him. He is a really good baby. We got so lucky! I always tell Chanel, "what ever you did worked."

We had so many visitors over the weekend. We loved it! This is Brody's cousin Zyan. She loves him and wanted to hold him all night. Her and my sister Erin would fight over whose turn it was. It was pretty funny.

Aunt Heather and cousin Zoey. Zoey loves dolls. She thought Brody was a big doll and that she could do what ever she wanted to him. So cute.

This is the Dejong family, who knows Chanel. They played a big part in this amazing process. We will be forever grateful to them.

Aunt Angie and cousin kailee. Brody is going to have so many cousins from both sides of the families to play with.

Chanel came over last night to visit Brody (grrr...I forgot to get a picture of them.) and I was telling her that it has only been a week and I feel like Brody has been with us forever. She looked up and agreed that she was thinking the same thing. We are so grateful for Chanel, we are so grateful for Brody, for finding his way to us. It truly is a miracle. When things are right and meant to be, they fall right into place. We are truly blessed.

Words can not express the love and gratitude we have for Devin, Chanel and her family. Over the past 6 weeks we have had the opportunity to witness the Lord's hand in the miracle of adoption. We are so happy to be apart of the adoption world. We are honored that Chanel chose us to be Brody's parents. She is an incredible young women.

Chanel invited us to be the the delivery room. I was so excited. Randy was a little nervous, because he does not do so well with blood and needles. He was so glad he tuft it out because it was a beautiful thing. I was the lucky one who cut the cord. It brings tears to my eyes that Chanel was so open for us to be there and that she went through 3 hours of pushing and puking all for us. That is something we will never forget. To witness the miracle of the birth of Brody was breathtaking. Thank you so much Chanel. It means more than you will ever know.

Chanel has the greatest family! We feel like we have known them forever. The love we feel from them is so great. This is their first grand child and to see them put all of there thoughts and emotions a side and let Chanel make her decision was so strengthening to us. They truly wanted what was best for Chanel and Brody. We love you guys for letting us fill of your love.

When I saw Brody for the first time, tears filled my eyes. He was so beautiful. I couldn't help but fill love for him. He is truly a blessing in our lives.

How we chose Brody's name: I have loved the name Brody for a while and when I said it to Randy he liked it too. Chanel was going to name him Keidan, so in honor of her we kept it as his middle name. Brock and Brody will have the same initials BKM. Brock Kylen and Brody Keidan. We thought that was so cute:)

Brock is going to be an awesome big brother! When I told him it was time to go and meet Brody, he got all giddy inside and could not stop giggling. It was so cute.

We had the opportunity to meet Brody's birth father, Devin. We were so happy to have met him and to tell him Thank You. Every body plays a part in this miracle and we could not be more grateful to him. Thank You so much Devin. We love you.

The day we were able to bring Brody home was a very emotional day. I woke up that day in tears. Chanel is the greatest example to me of love and unselfishness. I love her so much for the sacrifice she has made. Watching her hand her son to me was bitter sweet. We know Chanels decision was what she wanted for her and Brody. The spirit was so strong, we could all fill the love she has for him. The Lord truly had a had in this. I want to Thank everyone who was involved with the process. I also want to thank everyone for supporting Chanel in her decision. I know it means the world to her and it means the world to us. Chanel you are amazing. Thank you for your beautiful son. He has so many people who love him.

Temple Lights

Before the baby comes we thought we should go down town to see the lights with Brock. We took trax downtown. Brock was the life of the party on the train. He is starting to show off when others are watching. We met up with my sister Erin, Mike and Bryson.

Brock and Bryson were so intrigued by this guy with the bag pipes. Brock went right up to him and wanted to see this thing that made noise. The nice man stop playing, knelt down and started showing the boys how the instrument made noise. Randy and I even enjoyed it. That was sure nice of him.

We stopped in at the Desert Book Store for some hot chocolate. The boys loved all of the fun Christmas books.

Beautiful downtown. It was a very peaceful and relaxing night. I had a time to reflect on how blessed and grateful we are during this Holiday Season.

Ultra Sound

For all of you waiting for the big news.....Baby is not here yet, but I am sharing something amazing. Chanel invited me to her last Doctors appointment last Monday. It was incredible! They did an ultra sound just for me! This is a picture of babys strong heart beat. It was awesome for me to see him. To see his little feet and hands was so amazing. Words can not express to Chanel how blessed I am to have her in my life. She is so unselfish to let me in on the last moments of baby being in her tummy. It means so much. Thank You!

Thanksgiving 2010

Our Thanksgiving was great! We traveled up to Washington State to have Thanksgiving with Randy's brother Kevin and his family. We were nervous that Chanel would go into labor....She didn't, so it all worked out. The whole weekend was perfect. We just relaxed and laughed our heads off. We did attempt to do black Friday for the first time. We saw some great deals at Toys R Us, so we decided to go and check it out. When we drove up there was a line wrap around the store! We could not believe it. The temp. was 18 degrees. Randy said he would wait in line for us if we wanted to wait in the truck. How sweet was he?. I new I married the right man:) He was in line for one hour. When he got close to the door my two sister-in-laws and I met up with him. It was freezing! I don't know how all those people did it. It was crazy in side. After all the shopping we saved 35$. I don't know if that was worth it, but it was fun. Thanks for the great time Kevin and Susan! Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

The Nursery

Hello everyone! This is Chanel. Isn't she gorgeous?....And have I told you how amazing, wonderful, incredible she is? This young lady had a baby shower a few weeks ago, received a lot of loot and gave it all to me. WOW! I invited her over to help with the nursery. It was awesome. This is how it turned out. (I would love to paint, but because time in limited it will have to wait.)

This boy has it made! All these clothes are from her shower and I still have all Brocks baby clothes to hang up. He is going to be stylin'.

Hello Family and Friends,

We have some very exciting news to share. We Are EXPECTING! It's a Boy! He is due to arrive on December 1st.

Here's the story:

We got a phone call from a childhood friend (Aaron D.) telling us he felt inspired to call us about a young women in his ward, who is pregnant. Their Bishop asked Chanel (birth mother) if it would be OK if this AWESOME couple from Lehi called her. Chanel kinda rolled her eyes and said "sure". We were a little hesitate, but we called her. Randy called first. He said he was so nervous and sweaty. After his call with Chanel, he called me and said "that did not go well at all". He was wrong. Chanel loved his dorky personality. (Who doesn't love Randy?) I called about 2 hours later. I was so nervous. It was going good and then came the awkward pause, but I got through it. We told her if she wanted to meet we would love to do that, or if she just needed someone to talk to, we would be there. A few days later, I texted her to wish her a Happy Halloween and to see how she was doing. A few days after that we got a text from her saying she would love to meet us before she made any decision. I called our case-worker and she told us not to get our hopes up because she was planning on keeping her baby. I told our case-worker "if it's right the Lord will provide the way." We were still very excited to meet with her for the first time (at Chili's). Our first meeting was fun and a little awkward at times. ha ha We never talked about adoption with her, we let her direct the conversation. It was perfect. We got to know her and her family. We found out she knows my dad. She went to Riverton High where my dad works. Chanel had him for Drivers Ed and P.E. My dad said "he remembered cutting her a few deals with her grades". ha ha When we left the restaurant we hugged and she gave us the most delicious sugar cookies ever! We didn't know what was in store next.....A couple of days went by. We could not stop talking about how we felt when we were talking with her. I kept telling Randy that her and I have a great connection. I felt prompted to text her and see if she wanted to come over to our home for dinner. I did not ignore the prompting. Chanel said "YES, I would love that". Last night was the night all of our lives changed. After dinner she said she had a present for Brock. She brought a bag over to the table and pulled out a coloring book and crayons for Brock, then she pulled out those delicious sugar cookies for us, then she pulled out this little outfit. In my mind I thought...that won't fit Brock? Duh.. She said... "and this outfit is for Brocks new little brother". Time was frozen. It took our breath away, we were not expecting that. Randy said "come again"? I said "really?" With tears feeling all of our eyes we hugged. The spirit was so strong you could not deny that this was the right decision. What an amazing young women. To be so in tuned to the spirit, to put aside all of her feelings and her desires of wanting to keep her baby. For this young women to have enough faith and trust in the Lord, to not ignore those feelings is so incredible.

For those of you struggling with infertility stay close to the Lord. I have a strong testimony of faith. He will provide miracles when you are least expecting it. He will help you through these tough times. We are a testament of that. Chanel and Heather have changed our lives forever through the MIRACLE OF ADOPTION. We are going to have the most cutest little boys ever! We are so excited to expand our family yet again. We love you Chanel!

Yakkety-Yak

So this is Brock's yakkety-yak today.....It was today at church right in the middle of the sacrament when he says "It smells like %#!@ in here!" Where in the world did he here that? And of all the places to say it! I really like moments like these, even if they are embarrassing....so I can teach him. Randy and I laughed a good 5 min. (without him knowing of course)

I have been taking Brock to story time at the Lehi Library for the last couple of weeks. He is loving it! I took him a year ago and he was all over the place due to a one-year old's attention span. I decided to try it again. I thought because of his strong personality he would be more outgoing. He was shy and non responsive. It is so weird to see him like that, because that NEVER happens. I know and understand it's new to him. He just needs to get his feet wet and I know he will open up. It is fun for me to see him getting involved with other things besides, riding bikes, coloring, play dough, watch shows etc. Randy and I can not believe how grown up he is. It went to fast. Before we know it, he will be entering kindergarten. WOW!

Well we survived the potty training! Thanks to the book, 3 Day Potty Training. This book had some great techniques. It taught us how to talk to Brock in terms he would understand and how to make this a positive happy journey. I won't lie, I wanted to rip my hair out a few times, but I remembered what the book taught me and everything worked out for the best.
A week before we started I started introducing the potty to Brock. We read books and watched movies about the potty. We made a count down chain, that Brock loved.

In the book it tells you to let them throw the diapers away. I think it helped. From day one we told ourselves once we go undies we are not going back. The book says no pull-ups. They say it confuses the child. I am proud to say we didn't use them once. It has been one month now and he has only woke up wet twice. I think that is pretty good:)

This is his new toy for pooping in the potty. He liked it for only 10 mins. I don't know why I buy him toys? He would rather play with abc chewed gum, cigarette butts, dirt, wrappers, and anything yucky he finds on the ground. I should have collected those items and gave those to him. He probably would still be playing with them to this day. Funny boy.

Brock loves his new undies. He thinks it's a holster for his toys. He cracks us up.

Nooo... that is not dog pee and poop! Yes he still has accidents, but every week that goes by gets better. At least in this picture he pulled down his pants and undies. ha ha

Randy's 31st

For Randy's Birthday we decided to head up to Park City and ride the alpine slide and coaster. It was an adventure for sure.

When we got there Brock was not in the best of moods and it started the thunder. We continued anyway, we weren't going to let it stop us. We were on our way up the chairlift when we felt a few drops and than......a down poor. Needless to say we got soaked because we were only half way up to the top.

When we got to the top there was a shed the workers led us to. About 20 of us waited in until the rain stopped. To keep Brock occupied we put a sled on the floor. He was in heaven. About 10 min pass and the rain stopped:) The workers told us we could head down or wait until they wipe the slide down. We decided to wait it out. Everyone else went back down. Suckers! They told us to wipe it down could take up to 45 min. It only took 10 min. We were the first ones down the slide.

Brock loooovvedd it! Randy said they did not use the breaks at all and that Brock was giggling the whole way down. I wish I could have heard him.

Next was the coaster. Randy again didn't use the breaks. I think I have two dare devils on my hands. I better get some good life insurance:) ha ha.

Brock had a blast on the helicopter. It is rewarding to see things through Brock's eyes.

All in all it was a awesome day.

Castle Valley Pageant Slideshow

Randy has been working down in Castle Dale Utah for the past 6 weeks and will continue to do so until January. He finally invited us down to see the Castle Valley Pageant. It was loads of fun and a fun filled day. We went to a museum, we saw where Randy is working, we went swimming at the coolest pool, we went to a lamb roast, and then to see the Pageant. It was an AWESOME DAY! To top it off Pres. Uchtdorf graced us with his presence. It was amazing. Check it out!

Foam Day in Lehi

Welcome to Foam Day in Lehi. Every 24th of July Lehi puts on a big celebration for the pioneers. This was our first year to attend and won't be our last. Loads of fun from boutiques, food and foam.

The foam started at 2:00 and ended at 4:00 pm. (Right during Brock's nap time) So to say the least he was not happy at all.

He did not know what to think. It was like he was in a daze. Poor little guy:(

I'm so tired.

Even Brocks cousin Jeff and Dad enjoyed it.

Saturday July 3rd at 6:00 am we headed to the Balloon Festival.

It was to windy for the balloons to fly. The pilots would keep trying to blow them up when a big gust of wind would come and knock the balloon to the ground. I guess one fell on a crowd of people, because the sound they made while screaming scared me, like we were under attack or something. Some people are too funny.

Brock loved when the pilot would blow the hot air in the balloon.

Our choice is Allstate.

I don't remember what we ended up doing between the Festival and the fireworks, so...

...I thought it would be yummy to eat scones while we watched the fireworks.

They were so Delicious to the taste:)

Uncle Ike showed Brock how to light the smoke bombs and snakes. This is right up Brock's ally. He was in heaven.

I remember as a child the fireworks being so much more cool. Kind of a waste of money, but worth it for Brock. It's all about the memories:)

Grandpa Hink was making Brock laugh so hard that night. I actually got a picture of it. So cute.

On Monday the 5th, Randy and I ran a 5k. I think I am addicted. I was so proud of myself and Randy. When I know our times and get some pictures of the run I will post them.

It was a AWESOME weekend!

Brock and Bryson are the best of buds. For almost 2 years now Brock and Bryson have seen each other almost every day. It has been so easy sense the Miller Family lived down stairs. We are sad, but happy for my sister Erin and her husband Mike purchased a new home in Midvale. They moved out last weekend and Brock is going through with-drawls not being able to see Bryson. Nearly every morning he wants to go see Bryson. So, I send him down stairs to the empty basement and he comes up very sad and says to me "where did Bryson go"?, "where are all Bryson's toys?" I keep reminding him that Bryson is at his new house. Even though we will see Bryson at Terrific Tuesday's and at family parties, we are sure going to miss the little guy. We will also miss Erin and Mike. Our house feels a little empty with out them. We have enjoyed the time we have had with the Miller's. We are excited for you and we hope you love your new place.
